Sonia Sabri Company delivered 10 afterschool club workshops for 44 children across two schools in Birmingham, in areas which have traditionally underserved children. The workshops run were in dance, live music, movement and crafts and themed in mental health and well-being inspired by our new family show Noori and her Fantastical World. Through this activity and discussion with the creative team the children have helped to develop the character of Noori. They helped to explore the colour palette for the show and for the monkey character. Both groups were unanimous that we should use rainbows and all the colours of the rainbow! All the artists from the creative team have been inspired by the children’s authentic, emotionally engaged and sensitive responses.
