An orchestral work by Charlotte Bray, Black Rainbow, commissioned by the City of Birmingham Youth Orchestra to be premiered at Symphony Hall on 23 February 2014

Choreography by David Bintley for a new production of Benjamin Britten's Prince of the Pagodas, to be premiered by Birmingham Royal Ballet on 25 February 2014

A trumpet concerto by Brett Dean for Håkan Hardenberger, Dramatis Personae, a CBSO co-commission with the Grafenegg Festival and two other orchestras, to receive its UK premiere at Symphony Hall on 29 May 2014

An organ work by Jonathan Dove commissioned by Arts at St Laurence's to be played by Thomas Trotter to mark the 250th anniversary of the building of the historic Snetzler organ at St Laurence Church Ludlow, for first performance in Ludlow on 14 June 2014 and second performance in Town Hall Birmingham on 27 September 2014

A choral symphony, Unfinished Remembering, by composer Paul Spicer and poet Euan Tait commissioned by the Birmingham Bach Choir, to be premiered at Symphony Hall on 13 September 2014.
A 12-15 minute work from Anna Meredith for the Mike Fletcher Jazz Orchestra, commissioned by Performances Birmingham and to be premiered at Symphony Hall on 9 October 2014

A substantial work by James MacMillan for choir, soloists and a small instrumental ensemble commissioned by Ex Cathedra, to take place at Town Hall Birmingham on 31 January 2015

Music for a new Shakespeare Ode by Sally Beamish, commissioned by Ex Cathedra and involving large forces, to be premiered in Stratford upon Avon on 23 April 2016 to mark the 400th anniversary of Shakespeare's death, with subsequent performances in Birmingham and London.

An ensemble work by David Sawer for Birmingham Contemporary Music Group, expected to be premiered in the summer of 2016
